THIBODAUX, La.-Southern Miss Softball (18-18, 5-3 Sun Belt) fell 8-6 to a late rally from Nicholls (16-20) on Wednesday night at Swanner Field at Geo Surfaces Park.
Despite trailing by six runs, the Colonels scored eight unanswered runs, including a six-run rally in the fifth to clinch their sixth straight victory.

Jana Lee then launched her second grand slam and fourth home run total of the season, bringing the score to 6-0.
The Colonels responded with a run in the first, loading the bases with one out and then sending a runner home on a groundout. Nicholls inched closer in the fourth with an RBI single from Erin Krause before breaking through in the fifth with six runs.
