Track and Field Kicks Off Outdoor Season With 14 Podium Finishes at Bulldog Alumni Relays

STARKVILLE, Miss. – The Southern Miss track & field teams delivered standout performances at the Alumni Bulldog Relays, securing 14 top finishes over the weekend at Mississippi State. The women took home four first-place finishes, while the men earned three.
The Golden Eagle women were led by Taliyah Lindsay, who finished runner-up in both the 100m (11.56) and 200m (23.58). Kennedi Sanders claimed victory in the 400m with a time of 54.36, while Alexandria Cooper took first in the 5000m (17:46.35). In the field events, Joidon Boddie secured a win in the triple jump (12.09m), and Alana Simon topped the high jump field with a clearance of 1.65m.
On the men's side, Southern Miss saw success in the distance and field events. Kelvin Chiku won the 1500m (3:59.39), while Tyler Nichols took first place in the high jump (2.08m). Javel Fullerton added a runner-up finish in the 400m hurdles (51.98), and Justin Johnson placed third in the triple jump (14.65m). Mason Watkins rounded out the first-place finishes for Southern Miss in the 5000m (15:21.43).
