Men's Tennis Defeats Alcorn State

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Mississippi secured a 5-2 victory over Alcorn State on Wednesday at the Southern Miss Tennis Complex. The Golden Eagles (2-9) claimed the doubles point and won four singles matches to clinch the win.
Southern Miss swept doubles play, with all three pairs earning victories. Niklas Jensen and Pasawee Reansuwong won 6-3 in the top doubles match, while Ritabrata Sarkar and Ricards Spaks secured a 6-5 win. Olle Noltorp and Maxim Vulic completed the sweep with a 6-4 victory.
In singles action, the Golden Eagles won four of six matches. Noltorp, Reansuwong, Jensen, and Sarkar all picked up straight-set wins. Alcorn State's David Leon and Tomas Grime earned the Braves' only points.
With the win, Southern Miss improved to 2-9, while Alcorn State fell to 4-14.
