The Golden Eagles recorded a season-high 11 hits in the win, with four players logging two hits apiece: Maddie Weeks, Ryanna Valdivia, Jana Lee and Carrie Green.
Weeks extended her hitting streak to five games, finishing the day with three total hits. Green also notched a career milestone, launching her first collegiate home run to give Southern Miss the lead against Lamar.
Game Two: Southern Miss 5-Lamar 4
Southern Miss held off a late rally from Lamar, securing the victory on a walk-off RBI double from freshman infielder Abbi Troquille in the seventh inning.
With two outs, Jana Lee and Claire Ginder delivered back-to-back singles, setting the stage for Troquille, who ripped her first career double to secure the Golden Eagles' second walk-off win at home this season.
Lamar had tied the game in the top of the seventh with a pair of runs, but starting pitcher Kayla Giardina stranded a runner in scoring position with a clutch strikeout to keep the game level.

The freshman pitcher started strong in the circle, notching three early strikeouts and giving up just one hit before Lamar broke through in the third. The Cardinals strung together three straight hits, scoring consecutively on a Jayne Sepulveda RBI triple and a Trinity Brandon RBI single.
Southern Miss responded immediately the following frame, as Weeks and Valdivia each delivered RBI singles in the bottom of the third to even the score.

Lamar forced a dramatic finish in the seventh, scoring twice on a sacrifice fly and an RBI single from Sepulveda.
Southern Miss answered the call with Troquille's timely double bringing home pinch-runner Carlee Durham for the walk-off win.
