Volleyball Travels to Troy for Final Regular Season Road Series

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss volleyball closes out their regular season road matches against Troy Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. Both matches will be available on ESPN+ to view.
The Golden Eagles (14-9, 6-6 SBC) head to Troy, Alabama after dropping both matches to Texas State last weekend. Sadie McAda led the Golden Eagles with 28 kills on 75 attempts, while Brynn Botkin tallied 17 kills through both matches. Gaby Zovko earned 38 total assists while Morgen Durgens notched 22.
Nationally, Southern Miss ranks eleventh in the nation and leads the Sun Belt with 17.01 digs per set. Botkin ranks 16th in the nation this week in aces per set with 0.53 and is tied for 23rd with 41 total aces this season. As a team, the Golden Eagles sit 34th with 1.81 aces per set. In the Sun Belt, the team continues to lead the conference in total aces with 141 and aces per set with 1.81.
For the 2025 season, McAda leads Southern Miss with 308 total kills, while Durgens has 458 assists and Botkin has 41 service aces. Defensively, libero Sunni Sheppard has earned 341 digs while freshman Elly Stewart has earned 56.0 blocks.
The Trojans (6-14, 4-8 SBC) head into conference play after a 1-1 against ULM in Monroe last weekend. Southern Miss currently sits fourth in the West Division, while Troy is in the fifth slot. They are led by head coach Josh Lauer, who is in his ninth season with the Trojans.
