First International Trip for the Lady Eagles Since the 2007 Caribbean Classic in Cancun
PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas – Lady Eagle basketball is heading to Paradise Island, Bahamas, for one of the premier multi-team events on the NCAA women's basketball calendar as they will play in the 2024 Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis. The three-day tournament features eight NCAA teams with each team playing for the tournament's championship.
The field consists of Ball State, Baylor, Columbia, Indiana, North Carolina, Southern Miss, Texas A&M and Villanova with games to play in true tournament fashion featuring a winners' and losers' bracket. Tournament play begins on Saturday, Nov. 23 with four games being played each day through Monday, Nov. 25.
Southern Miss will begin its trek through the star-studded field on Saturday, Nov. 23, against Baylor at 11 a.m. ET (10 a.m. CT) at the Atlantis Resort's Imperial Arena.
The Lady Eagles are coming off an improbable run to the WNIT Super 16 last season. The 'Magnificent Seven' stayed undefeated on their home court during the postseason run, led by Domonique Davis' record-breaking single season scoring performance. Southern Miss returns five of those seven for the 2024-25 season and looks to collect its third consecutive 20-win season.
