Football Fall Camp Continued Monday Morning on Golden Eagle Campus

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss football team returned to the practice field early Monday morning as they continued with practice No. 10 of fall camp in M.M. Roberts Stadium as they continue preparations for the start of the 2024 season.
After going through the team's first full scrimmage Saturday followed by a day off, fourth-year head coach Will Hall reviewed Saturday's scrimmage by looking at the tape and praised some different position groups, including the safety position on defense.
"We've got to continue to progress at the free safety position," said Hall. "[Elijah] Sabbatini is a really good player but he's coming off of a knee injury and he's still getting used to that. Ques McNeal got cleared full-go today back from his injury last year, so that's good. Cam Knox has got to continue to develop. Most of the things I said after watching the tape were right. There were some really intense physical hitting going on."
The Golden Eagles continued its installation and put work into the special team phases during the Monday workout.
"We got good work today on our punt units and punt return, specifically working punt block today," said Hall. "We'll go hard again tomorrow. Tomorrow is a full pads day, we'll go live. It'll be a good physical day again as we keep progressing.
"The big thing on these Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays is that we want to continue to build depth and get sound in special teams. Tuesday and Saturdays are going to be physical."
