Women’s 4x100 Relay Earn Second Team All-America Honors at NCAA Outdoor Championship

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss 4x100 relay team of Trinity Flagler, Jada McDougle, Savi'a Varnell and Trinity Benson, posted a 43.82 in their semifinal heat enabling the team to earn second-team All-America honors Thursday night in the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
The Golden Eagle relay squad enjoyed the 15th best time in the three-heat semifinals but did not advance to Saturday's final race.
Southern Miss reached this point by registering a school record of 43.68 in the NCAA East Regionals in Lexington, Ky., last month.
The group also earned Sun Belt Conference first-team honors by running a facility-record 43.98 to win the league's title.
