Outdoor Track and Field Qualifies for 13 NCAA Regional Events Next Week at Kentucky

HATTIESBURG, Miss – The Southern Miss Outdoor Track and Field squad qualified for 13 different events, seven women and six men, for the NCAA East Regional set for May 22-25 at the Kentucky Outdoor Track and Field Facility in Lexington, Ky.

Jada McDougle qualified for four events including both the 100- and 200-meter races, while Trinity Benson will race in the 400 meters competition. Both McDougle and Benson will also compete in both the 4x100 and 4x400 relay races as well. Savia' Varnell will also participate for both relay teams, while Trinity Flagler will go with the 4x100 team and Addison McLaurin with the 4x400 squad.

In the field events, both Jelese Alexander and Alana Simon will compete in the high jump, while Za'Isha Fraser is set to compete in the triple jump event.

On the men's side, the Golden Eagles are set to compete in a pair of track events, with Warren Williams set for the 110-meter hurdles and Javel Fullerton in the 400-meter hurdles. On the field side, both Zayne Palomino and Tyler Nichols are set to compete in the high jump, De'Aundre Ward in the long jump, Piers Cameron in the shot put and Kaya Ludgood in the hammer throw.
