Southern Miss Notables
- Southern Miss gave up only one run last weekend versus Georgia State, the fewest runs allowed in a conference series since the Golden Eagles blanked UAB in a series sweep in 2002.
- Graduate student catcher Hannah Borden produced five hits last week, eclipsing the career milestone of 200 hits, a mark only two Golden Eagles have reached in program history. Borden also reached 100 career runs, becoming the tenth player in program history to reach the mark. Borden is on the verge of surpassing Megan Hill's 205 career hits, the second most in Southern Miss' record book. After registering three doubles last week, the Trussville, Ala. native is three shy of becoming the third Golden Eagle with 40 career doubles. Borden also trails the program's all-time record for most RBI by 11. Having already broken the program's all-time record for most career home runs, Borden's 13 home runs this season also nears the program's single-season record for most home runs (15 by Amy Berman, 1999).
- Sophomore center fielder Kinsley Gordon led the team last weekend with a .667 mark, registering four hits, including her second home run of the season. Gordon launched her first home run since the opening week with a solo shot against Georgia State on Saturday.
- Altogether, the Golden Eagles produced four home runs against Georgia State, including Borden and Lauren Lindsey's two-run shots Sunday that batted in all four of the team's runs in the match. Gordon and Lee also added home runs in the series.
- Craft earned her first win of the season in the circle, allowing just four hits with no walks or runs while fanning two batters.
