Men's Tennis Entertains Coastal Carolina in Sun Belt Opener

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Riding a three-match winning streak, Southern Miss (3-2, 0-0 Sun Belt) will host Coastal Carolina (4-5, 0-0 Sun Belt) on Tuesday afternoon in the Sun Belt opener for both teams. First serve from the Southern Miss Tennis Complex is set for 2 p.m.
The Golden Eagles are coming off a 6-1 win over Alcorn State on Saturday, while previously beating New Orleans and Jackson State. Both Olimjon Nabiev and Olle Noltorp picked up their team-leading third win in singles action against the Braves. Noltorp is undefeated in his freshman campaign at 3-0. In doubles action, Southern Miss is paced with a 3-0 record from Dakotah Bobo and Henry Lamchinniah.
Coastal Carolina heads to Hattiesburg with a 4-5 record and wins in three of its last four matches. The Chanticleers pitched a 4-0 shutout over Davidson last Sunday after falling to Charlotte the day before. Their other three wins have been over College of Charleston, UNC Greensboro and Francis Marion. Lucas Wayenburg leads the team in singles wins with 5, while two other players each have four wins.
Tuesday's match is part of a four-match homestand for the Golden Eagles that started with the win over Alcorn State. Next, they will host Jacksonville State (March 9) and Tennessee State (March 10).
