Outdoor Track and Field Finishes South Alabama Invite Saturday with Six First-Place Showings

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss Outdoor Track and Field team completed the South Alabama Invite Saturday with six first-place showings, three from the women and three from the men, to complete its first outdoor meet of the season in Mobile, Ala.

On the women's side, Jada McDougle finished first in the 100 meters with a time of 11.59, while also enjoying a leg of the 4x100 relay team, along with Trinity Flagler, Savi'a Varnell and Trinity Benson with a time of 44.27.
Emme Bates also captured an individual title for the women with a 2:12.26 in the 800 meters.

The men produced event champions in the 110-meter hurdles from Warren Williams with a time at 14.16, while Elijah Bates won the 200-meter race by enjoying a time of 21.54 and Austin Borne's 4:05.57 was the best in the 1500 meters.

In all, the Golden Eagles enjoyed 28 top eight finishers in the event.

Southern Miss returns to action at the Bulldog Relays March 22-23 at Starkville, Miss.
