Men’s Golf Returns to Action at the Dufner-Tiger Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss men's golf team returns to action when they travel to Auburn, Ala., Monday and Tuesday, for the Dufner-Auburn Invitational at the par 72, 7,591-yard Auburn University Club.
The teams, along with the Golden Eagles, include No. 1 ranked Auburn, including an Auburn B team, Ball State, East Carolina, Elon, FGCU, Florida Atlantic, Georgia State, Jacksonville State, Kennesaw State, Lamar, Lipscomb, Northern Illinois, Richmond, Toledo, UNCW and Wichita State make up the field.
This is the third event of the spring for the Golden Eagles. Senior Robbie Latter (Mississauga, Ontario) continues to lead the squad with its lowest average round of 71.35 this season and starts the team's lineup for the event. Joining Latter will be fellow senior Thongpipat Rattanayanon (Bangkok, Thailand), who has one top 10 finish this season and holds a scoring average of 73.15.
Senior Bennett Ruby (Waterloo, Ontario) has enjoyed the best play over the last two tournaments with a total of eight-under-par over his last last five rounds and his stroke average is 72.00 this season. Junior Ryan Dupuy has played in all seven tournaments this season for the Golden Eagles and holds a career average of 73.14.
The final member of the Golden Eagle squad is Supakorn Amornchaichan (Pattaya City, Thailand), who had his best tournament of the year his last time out at the Dorado Beach Collegiate as an individual, with an eight-under 136.
The teams will play 36 continuous holes on Monday, before finishing the event Tuesday with 18 final holes.
