Starting pitcher Loganne Stepp notched her second win of the season through five innings pitched, allowing four hits, walking three and allowing just one run with three strikeouts.
After two scoreless innings from the field, Southern Miss bats began to fire at the bottom of the third with a leadoff single from Allen-her first hit of the season. After a sacrifice bunt from McManus, Borden hit an RBI double to score Allen.Â
Lee followed with a double of her own and Natalie Taylor drew a walk to load the bases. Ryanna Valdivia seized the opportunity with a double that drove in two runs, a team-high in the game.
