NEW ORLEANS – Southern Miss women's basketball freshman guard Trinity Rowe earned Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week Honors today. Rowe, a native of Pikeville, Ky., fired seven three-pointers in Southern Miss' conference-opening win over Georgia State en route to her career-high 25 points.
The reigning Miss Kentucky Basketball opened Sun Belt Conference play with a bang, finishing the game with seven three-point baskets and tied for second on the all-time single-game records. Rowe's scoring outburst saw her shoot 7-of-13 from the floor and 7-of-12 from beyond the arc.
Her 12 attempts place her 10th for most three-point attempts in a game while her 58.3 three-point percentage ties her for seventh. Twenty-five points mark not just a new career-high for Rowe, but the most points by a Lady Eagle in a game this season.
She now own a 43.9 three-point percentage, which ranks 27th in Division I and leads the Sun Belt Conference.
Rowe claims Southern Miss' first player of the week honor for the 2024-25 season. It is the sixth time a Lady Eagle has earned the honor in the Sun Belt Conference.

Celebrating 50 Seasons of Southern Miss Women's Basketball
The 2024-25 season of Southern Miss Lady Eagle Basketball marks a major milestone for the program and for The University of Southern Mississippi as the women's basketball program celebrates its 50th season of competition. Following the adoption of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Southern Miss added women's basketball and women's tennis as official athletic programs beginning in the 1975-76 season. Since then, the Lady Eagles have laid out five decades of excellence on and off the court. To celebrate this golden jubilee, Southern Miss women's basketball will host its 50th Season Celebration and Reunion on Saturday, January 18, against South Alabama at Reed Green Coliseum.
