Cross Country Heads to Sun Belt Championship

FOLEY, Ala. – The Southern Miss cross country team will compete in the Sun Belt Cross Country Championship at 9:15 a.m. Friday at Graham Creek Nature Preserve in Foley. All 10 Golden Eagles' roster athletes will race in the 5K event.

In their last outing, Southern Miss placed 12th out of 18 teams at the Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Maria Kaylor earned Sun Belt Runner of The Week with her 20th-place finish of 20:28.8 in the 6K race.

At last year's Sun Belt Championship, Southern Miss placed 7th, finishing with 166 points. Veterans Sarah Parnell, Kristina Stojanovic and Sylvia White are all returning to the championship stage.
