Ozzie Pratt (Oxford, Miss.) came through for Gray in the top of the ninth, reaching on an infield single. Pratt then stole second and executed a double steal with Carson Paetow (Vancleave, Miss.) to place two runners in scoring position. A wild pitch score Pratt and Paetow came home on a Davis Gillespie (Birmingham, Ala.) groundout to bring to score to 5-2.
Gray when down swinging to end the game as Drew Druckenmiller (Mobile, Ala.) recorded the final out. Will Armistead got the win on the day, throwing two complete innings and allowing just one hit.
