HATTIESBURG, Miss. --Â Southern Miss women's golf coach Lucy Nunn Burke announced the 2023-24 schedule on Wednesday.Â
Entering her sixth season in charge of the program, Nunn Burke captured her first tournament win with the Golden Eagles at the Hoover Classic last season. Nunn Burke also guided five Golden Eagles to the top-20 list of the single season low stroke average, including Momoka Ando's program-best 73.57 stroke average.Â
The Golden Eagles open the season at the USA Intercollegiate, a three-day event starting on Sept. 2 at Magnolia Grove. It's the third consecutive season where Southern Miss opens at the South Alabama event. From Mobile, the Golden Eagles travel West to Fort Collins, Colo. for the Colonel Wollenberg Ram Classic. The two-day event on Sept. 25 and 26 will be played at Ptarmigan Country Club.Â
From Colorado, the Golden Eagles travel to Broken Arrow, Okla. for the Dale MacNamara Invitational at Golf Club of Oklahoma. The two-day event kicks off of Oct. 9. Southern Miss will make its Mississippi debut on Oct. 23 at The Ally. The three-day event is being held at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Miss. Following The Ally, the Golden Eagles will host The Judson at Hattiesburg Country Club for the second-straight season. The historic event will be on Oct. 30 and 31.Â
The backend of the season opens on Feb. 19 with the Great River Cup at Windance Country Club in Gulfport, Miss. The two-event will be a match play format with ULM to prepare the two conference foes for the Sun Belt Championships in April. Nunn Burke's squad will then head to New Orleans, La. for the Tulane Classic at English Turn Golf & Country Club. The event will be played March 10-12.Â
Southern Miss returns to the MountainView Collegiate for the fourth-straight season at The Preserve Golf Club in Saddlebrooke, Ariz. The event will be played March 15-17. Heading down the stretch, the Golden Eagles return to the ULM Invitational at Bayou Desiard Country Club on April 1 and 2. The final regular season event will feature a trip to Macon, Ga. for the Mercer Invitational. The two-day event will be played at The Brickyard Golf Club on April 8 and 9.Â
The Sun Belt Championships will be held in mid-April at a course yet to be determined.Â
