Wilks Named to College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® Team

AUSTIN, Texas – Southern Miss baseball designated hitter Slade Wilks earned Third Team Academic All-America honors. Wilks joins a list of 35 baseball student-athletes selected by the College Sports Communicators.
Wilks (Columbia, Miss. // Columbia Academy) is a junior business administration major and holds a 3.52 cumulative grade-point average. He is the 12th Golden Eagle to earn a spot on the prestigious roster.
He is the first Golden Eagle to earn a spot on the Academic All-America roster since 2018 when Nick Sandlin earned First-Team honors.
Wilks is currently slashing .291 / .383 / .612 and leads the Golden Eagles in home runs (20), RBI (58), total bases (145), and slugging percentage (.612). The junior has also played in 62 games this season, making 60 starts.
