Southern Miss Track and Field Pick Up 12 Victories at Home Meet

HATTIESBURG, Miss.-- To round out an outstanding weekend at the Marshall Bell Track Complex for the Southern Miss Invitational, Southern Miss track and field claimed 12 events and seven other Golden Eagles recorded top-three finishes.
"It's always great to run in front of your family and friends. Our seniors went out with a bang at their last home competition. Their accomplishments and the people they have grown to be while at Southern Miss makes me incredibly proud, said head coach Jon Stuart.
The Golden Eagles also found success in the women's 400-meter dash sweeping the event with Trinity Benson coming in first with a time of 56.51, Savi'a Varnell taking second, clocking 56.63, and Trinity Flagler crossing the line at 57.18 for a third-place showing.

The Golden Eagles will head to Baton Rouge, La., to compete in the Joe May Invitational on April 8.
