DAYTONA, Fla. -- The Southern Miss women's golf team endured a short rain delay as it finished the second round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in 10th place on Monday afternoon. Momoka Ando continued to lead the Golden Eagle charge at LPGA International after her stellar Sunday round.Â
Ando, who sat tied for third heading into today's round, dropped to fifth after a four-over 76. The sophomore added two more birdies to her tournament total after going for four yesterday. Though Ando was the top Golden Eagle on the leaderboard, freshman Taylor Trible had the best round for Southern Miss today. The Texas native came into the clubhouse with an even-par 72. Trible's best stretch was the front nine, where she finished one-under and finish in 24th.
Elena Melich shot a seven-over 79, while Alma Betoret and Fernanda Gorostiaga both shot 82-plus. Leah Onosato (Old Dominion) took over sole possession of first place after a one-over 73. The low round of the day belonged to Arkansas State's Olivia Schmidt, who fired a three-under 69.Â
ULM went five-over par today to take the lead over Texas State. The Warhawks hold a three-shot lead over the Bobcats heading into Tuesday's final round. Arkansas State, Georgia Southern and South Alabama round out the top-five.Â
