Southern Miss Softball Falls to Georgia Tech

ATLANTA – Day two of the I-75 Challenge featured a Saturday afternoon showdown between Georgia Tech (10-8, 0-0 ACC) and the Southern Miss softball team (13-3, 0-0 Sun Belt). The Yellow Jackets shut out the game 1-0.
The Yellow Jackets broke the scoring stalemate in the bottom of the fourth when second baseman Grace Connelly doubled to center field, advanced to third on an error, and ran home on a wild pitch. The Black & Gold were unable to find the equalizer.
Jana Lee (3-1) recorded the loss in the circle; Morgan Leinstock relieved Lee at the bottom of the fourth, striking out six batters and allowing zero runs and walks.
The Golden Eagles will face off with Brown University Sunday morning at Bailey Park; live streaming will not be available, but a live stats link will be provided on our website.
