Davis Honored as Sun Belt Player of the Week

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss women's basketball's Domonique Davis was selected as the Sun Belt Conference's Player of the Week after her 25-point performance in Saturday's win over No. 19 Ole Miss.
The senior guard from DeRidder, La., finished the day 8-of-14 from the floor and a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line. Davis also dished out five assists, accounting for another 13 points.
Davis led all scorers in the game with a season-high 25 points on 33:09 of playing time. Throughout the game, Davis pushed Southern Miss up and down the floor, sealing the game with 15 seconds remaining on a driving layup from the free throw line.
This week's selection is Davis' fourth career selection for the award, garnering three Player of the Week awards last season.
Her efforts helped Southern Miss upset No. 19/20 Ole Miss, 61-59, and collect the Lady Eagles' first win over a ranked opponent since the 1999-00 season.
