Volleyball Concludes Regular Season with Home Duel Against Old Dominion

HATTIESBURG, Miss.- Southern Miss Volleyball (11-14, 6-8 Sun Belt) is set to close the regular season with a pair of matches at home against Old Dominion (13-15, 5-9 Sun Belt) on Nov. 10-11. The Golden Eagles will battle the Monarchs on Friday at 6 p.m., followed by an 11 a.m. contest on Saturday.

With two games remaining in the regular season, the Golden Eagles hold a two-game advantage over Arkansas State to hold the fifth seed in the West Division. One win this weekend will secure the fifth seed for Southern Miss and guarantee a first-round bye in the 2023 Sun Belt Conference Volleyball Championships next week in Foley, Ala.

Libero Megan Harris reached a career milestone during the series, becoming just the 18th player in program history to surpass 1,000 career digs.
Outside hitter Mia Wesley also climbed program leaderboards, surpassing Ashley Mell for the eighth most kills in program history. The Orem, Utah native stands at 1,333 career kills and counting.

- Junior Ari Barksdale has the fifth-highest hitting percentage across all games this season with a .324 clip, a career-best mark. Barksdale has also hit a career-high 81 kills this season.
Old Dominion Quick Hits
- Old Dominion is led by fourth-year head coach Fred Chao, who is also the program's first-ever head coach. Chao has posted a 45-55 record with the Monarchs.
- Right side hitter Myah Conway ranks third in conference play with 220 kills in 50 sets, an average of 4.40 kills per set. Conway has a total of 401 kills this season, and is only 19 kills away from reaching 1,000 career kills.
- Setter Teresa Atilano's 10.23 assists per set rank third in conference play this season.
- LeeAnne Lowery's .342 clip in conference play ranks second in the Sun Belt; the redshirt sophomore is also second in the conference in blocks per set.
- The Monarchs have allowed opponents to hit at a .239 clip this season, the lowest ranking in the Sun Belt this season.
