HATTIESBURG, Miss-- Head coach Piyanart, Engineer of the Southern Miss women's tennis team, announces the spring 2024 schedule, as the Golden Eagles are slated to play ten home matches.
Fall Slate: The Golden Eagles finished their fall slate last weekend at the Ragin' Cajun Fall Invitational in Lafayette, La.
Home Slate: The Golden Eagles kick off the spring with a match against Florida A&M on Jan. 27. Then, Southeastern Louisiana will come to Hattiesburg on Jan. 28. Next is a slight road trip as they start getting closer to Sun Belt play, but they will have two tune-up matches against Lamar University on Feb. 25 and Alcorn State on March 2. Conference play starts with a home stand with three great opponents: Texas State on March 9, Old Dominion on March 16, and a match against James Madison on St.Patrick's Day. The final home stretch comes after a two-week trip on the East Coast, returning home to play Appalachian State on April 6, Marshall on April 7, and the last home match on April 13, facing South Alabama.
Road Slate: The Black & Gold spend two days at home before heading on the road, leading down to the Bayou State to face Northwestern State on Feb. 4, then traveling to Alabama to compete against Belmont on Feb. 11 and Samford on Feb. 12. Before turning back around to play the University of New Orleans on Feb. 16 and Jackson State on Feb. 23. Then precisely one month later, in the middle of Conference play, they will head out to Troy on March 23, next heading to Georgia for a couple of matches against Georgia State on March 24 and Georgia Southern on March 25, then heading up the coast for the night to face Coastal Carolina on March 30. The final regular season match of the season will be in Jonesboro, Ark., as the Black & Gold look to meet Arkansas State on April 20.
The Sun Belt Conference Championships will be held in Rome, Georgia, from April 24 through April 28.
