Women's Golf Travels to Oklahoma for Dale MacNamara Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss women's golf team is off to Broken Arrow, Okla. To play in the Dale MacNamara Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.
The tournament will be played at the Golf Club of Oklahoma and is set up as a par 72, 6,242-yard course. The 14-team field includes Southern Miss, Tulsa, UTSA, South Florida, BYU, Sam Houston, Nebraska, CSU, ORU, Cal Poly, ACU, Arkansas State, Kennesaw state, and Oklahoma City University.
The Golden Eagle lineup includes Elena Melich, Ragini Navet, Momoka Ando, Taylor Trible, and Jacee Fields. Finishing sixth last week in Colorado, Ando leads the team with a 70.5 season stroke average. Melich is averaging 74.2 strokes per round this season, while Trible is not far behind at 74.8.
The tournament is named for legendary Tulsa women's golf coach Dale McNamara. McNamara coached 26 years at Tulsa and took the women's golf program from the ground floor to national prominence, winning four national championships. Her first national crown came at the 1980 AIAW National Championship and won the final AIAW National Championship in 1982. She won the inaugural NCAA title that same year and her team also won the 1988 NCAA Championship, as her daughter was the individual medalist. McNamara retired from coaching following the 1999-2000 season.
The first round will get started at 8:30 a.m. on Monday Morning and be followed by the second round immediately after. Tuesday's final round will start at 8:30 a.m. Live scoring can be found here.
