Women’s Tennis Round Out ITA Southern Regionals

BATON ROUGE- The Southern Miss women's tennis team concluded their time at the ITA Southern Regionals with an 8-6 set loss to the No.2 seed Alabama.
"I am proud of how Suhana and Zenn competed in a tight 8-6 match against the No 2 seed from Alabama in the doubles main draw," said head coach Engineer.
"The ITA regionals gave us good insights into what we must prepare and improve before our inaugural Golden Eagle home invitational from Oct. 27-28."
In the singles competition, Lim, who secured her place in the main draw after battling through the final qualifying round, showcased her skills in back-to-back matches. Unfortunately, she narrowly missed victory, succumbing to a closely contested third set with a score of 7-5 against Mississippi State.
The doubles pair also gave their all but ultimately fell short in a nail-biting match against Alabama, bringing their impressive streak at the ITA Southern Regionals to a close.
Up next: The Black and Gold continue their fall season at home as they host the Golden Eagle Invitational Oct.26-28.
