Fifteen Victories Shine on Women’s Tennis Golden Eagle Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss.-- Day one of the inaugural Golden Eagle Invitational witnessed the Southern Miss women's tennis team securing eleven wins and four wins on day two.
Coach Nui on Day one:
"It was an exceptional day for the Golden Eagles, clinching eleven victories. Zenn, Angelina, and Malannia delivered standout performances, advancing to the main draw finals in singles. Additionally, two of our doubles teams reached the semifinals," stated head coach Piyanart Nui.
Coach Nui on Day two:
I am very pleased with the team's performance at our inaugural fall invitational," said head coach Piyanart Engineer. "We won 15 matches in two days, which is testimony to our improvement since competing in the ITA regionals. It is always a nice feeling to be at home and give our fans an opportunity to get to know our team and watch us compete."
Zenn Lim commenced the morning with a triumph over Stasya Bobronikova of North Alabama 6-3, 6-4.. She further secured a win against Alice Klinteby of ULM, scoring 6-1, 6-3 advancing to the main draw finals but fell to Irene Artigas of Jacksonville State on day two, with a score of 5-7, 7-6 (4), 10-5.
Alyssa Richter came close to reaching the main draw finals, defeating Marta Serra of North Alabama, but succumbed to Irene Artigas with a score of 6-2, 6-4.
Angelina Blinova progressed to the finals with victories over Kate Kalisstratov of UNO and Giovanna Pereira of ULM, achieving scores of 6-3, 6-0 but fell to defeat in the main draw against Ada Karabacack of North Alabama on day two.
Malannia Vashkevich also had an impressive opening day, triumphing over Taisia Bolsova of Southeastern Louisiana and Martia Zarza of Jacksonville State, scoring 6-3, 6-3 but Emma Ansorge of North Alabama emered victorious on day two.
Next up: The Golden Eagles will close out fall competition in Lafayette on Nov. 3-4 for the Ragin' Cajun Invitational.
