Southern Miss Closes Homestand With Pair of Matches Against Texas State

HATTIESBURG, Miss.-Southern Miss (7-10, 2-4 Sun Belt) looks to continue its winning streak at home with a pair of matches against the Texas State Bobcats (10-7, 3-3 Sun Belt) set for Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m.
The Golden Eagles have a pair of promotions scheduled this weekend. The team will host "Block Out Cancer" night during Friday's match, with Raanes & Oliver Capital Advisors donating $100 to the Forrest General Cancer Center for every block made by the Golden Eagles.Â
Southern Miss will then welcome Seymour Sidekicks and former participants in camps with free admission to Saturday's Camper Reunion Day. There will also be a free 45-minute clinic for all ages post-match.

With two 3-0 wins versus ULM last weekend, the Golden Eagles have now won eight consecutive games in the Wellness Center, dating back to last season.
Southern Miss got back on track against the Warhawks, snapping a five-game losing streak and picking up its first pair of conference wins this season.
The Golden Eagles succeeded on both sides of the ball, posting a combined .290 hitting percentage and 14.17 kills per set, which were both ranked as the second-best in the conference last week. Defensively, Southern Miss earned 2.67 blocks per set and a conference-best 19 digs per set.
