Men's Basketball Set to Continue Home Stretch with James Madison on Saturday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss (16-4, 5-2 SBC) men's basketball team continues its four-game homestand with James Madison (13-7, 4-3 SBC) on Saturday afternoon at Reed Green Coliseum. The Golden Eagles will battle the Dukes for the first time in program history at 2 p.m. on ESPN+.

Golden Eagle Nuggets
- DeAndre Pinckney and Austin Crowley have both been named Sun Belt Player of the Week over the course of the two-week road trip that wrapped up last week
- The Golden Eagles are coming off a 76-72 win against South Alabama on Thursday night at The Greenhouse
- Austin Crowley has scored 10-plus points in each of the last 11 games, including 25 last night against the Jaguars
- Four of Southern Miss' five starters finished with double-digit points: Crowley (25), Haase (18), Pinckney (18) and Harris (11)
- Southern Miss' 9-0 start at home is tied for the third best in the last 20 seasons

- Southern Miss had a record-breaking day in the steals department against Lamar on Dec. 10 as its 21 steals was the fourth most in a single game in program history

- Three days later it set a program record for three-point attempts when it tried 42 at Lamar on Dec. 13
- Pinckney (7.3) and Haase (7.0) pace the Golden Eagles on the glass, while Pinckney leads the with 146 total rebounds
- Jay Ladner went back to his usual starting five with Crowley, Arnold, Harris, Pinckney and Haase. That grouping is 6-2 when it starts for Southern Miss this season

Scouting the Dukes
- James Madison heads into Saturday's game coming off an 89-87 overtime win at Troy on Thursday night
- The Jaguars are 13-7 overall, and 4-3 in Sun Belt play
- Vado Morse leads the offensive charge at 13.6 points per game. He has scored 25 points in back-to-back games coming into Saturday
- Terrence Edwards (11.9), Takal Molson (10.8) and Mezie Offurum (10.6) each average 10-plus points per game along with Morse
- Offurum is averaging 5.4 rebounds per game and has 92 in the 17 games he's appeared in

Series History
- Thursday's game marks the first all-time meeting between the two schools
