Robbie Latter Finishes Second in Canadian Amateur Championship

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss rising junior golfer Robbie Latter (Mississauga, Ontario) concluded the 117th Canadian Amateur Championship, Thursday, with a second-place finish.

The four-day, 72-hole event saw Latter post an eight-under 276 which included rounds of 69-72-65-70. After playing the opening round at the par 71, 6,477-yard course at Seymour Golf and Country Club in North Vancouver, Latter played his final three rounds at the par 71, 6,701-yard Point Grey Golf and Country Club in Vancouver.

Although he was in a two-way tie to start the day, Luis Carrera of Mexico carded a 66 over the final circuit to overcome a two-stroke deficit to win the event.

This past spring, he earned a spot on the Conference USA second team and enjoyed the lowest scoring average in school history in 2021-22 with a 71.88. Latter finished in the Top 5 in one tournament and in the Top 10 in three total events during the Golden Eagles' season.
