Former Golden Eagle Victoria Hoppe Passes Away

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Former Southern Miss track and field and XC runner Victoria Hoppe passed away peacefully after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. She was 25. "We are saddened by the loss of Victoria and will remember her for the wonderful person she was," said head coach Jon Stuart. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the Hoppe family." Hoppe competed for Southern Miss from 2016-19, where she was a part of the first Conference USA women's outdoor conference championship team in program history during the 2018 season. A Celebration of Life for Hoppe will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, 4 pm to 7 pm at The Gardens of Weber Manor, 21745 S.W. 157th Avenue, Miami, FL 33170.
