Tanner Hall Earns ABCA/Rawlings First-Team All-America Honors

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss sophomore right-handed pitcher Tanner Hall added to his list of All-America honors Friday by being named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings first team at starting pitcher.
The honor marks the fourth All-America selection for Hall this month. After earning first-team selection by Collegiate Baseball earlier this month, the Zachary, La., native collected first-team honors by PerfectGame.org and was a second-team pick by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) earlier this week.
The Conference USA Pitcher of the Year finished the season with a 9-3 record and a 2.81 earned run average over 109 innings of work. He fanned 146 and walked just 14 during the year. Following the super regionals, Hall ranks nationally No. 3 in strikeout-to-walk ratio (10.43), No. 4 in strikeouts and No. 11 in walks per nine innings (1.16).
The Dick Howser Trophy and Golden Spikes Award semifinalist, as well as the Ferriss Trophy recipient for top collegiate baseball player in the state of Mississippi, also captured two C-USA Pitcher of the Week awards during the year.
Later this month, Hall, along with teammate Hurston Waldrep, will report to the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team training camp with an opportunity to make a squad that will participate in Honkbal Week in Haarlem, Netherlands, next month.
It is the fifth consecutive year that the Golden Eagle program has registered at least one player on ABCA squads and becomes the first Southern Miss player since pitcher Nick Sandlin in 2018 to collect first-team accolades.
