Track and Field Continues Outdoor Season at Crimson Tide Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss track and field team is back in action this weekend at the Crimson Tide Invitational hosted by the University of Alabama on Friday and Saturday at the Sam Bailey Track and Field Stadium.
"I'm excited to get back on the track after a great meet last weekend," said head coach Jon Stuart. "We'll look to keep the momentum going against a really strong field of competition this weekend in Tuscaloosa."
Action gets underway Friday at 2 p.m. CT with Alexis Morris, Isabella Simonelli and Jordan Speer set to compete in the women's hammer throw. Friday's running events begin at 8 p.m. CT with Rebecca DeKay, Kate Mattox and Sandra Szpott competing in the 1500M.
Morris and Simonelli again open competition for the Golden Eagles in the discus on Saturday at 9 a.m. CT, while action on the track is slated to begin at 1 p.m. CT with the 4x100 relay.
In total, Southern Miss has 37 student-athletes in action over the course of the weekend again a field of 20 teams from nine states. Live results for the meet can be found here.
