"We're excited for another opportunity to show what we're made of," head coach Jon Stuart said. "Our team has been trending in the right direction as we look to close strong at the conference meet. We are carrying some momentum into the meet after a great regular season finale. I'm excited to see what our kids can do with the added stakes of a championship setting."
Corvell Todd (high jump) and Fred Moudani (shot put) both currently lead Conference USA entering the weekend, while DJ Butler (400m) and the 4x400 relay all rank in the top three in the conference.
On the women's side, Trinity Flagler (60m), Smilla Kolbe (800m), Ashlee Osaji (long jump), Jordan Speer (shot put) and the DMR are seeded in the top three.
The competition opens on Saturday with the men's weight throw and long jump at 3 p.m. CT. The women open things on the track with the mile prelims at the same time.
Southern Miss will have 40 student-athletes competing across the two teams, with 25 on the women's side and 15 for the men.
