Men's Basketball Heads to Vanderbilt for First Road Game

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss (1-0, 0-0 SBC) men's basketball team opens its road slate at Vanderbilt (0-1, 0-0 SEC) on Friday night from historic Memorial Gymnasium.Tip off from Music City is scheduled for 6 p.m.

- Southern Miss held William Carey to 42 points in the season opener on Monday night, making it the single-lowest scoring output by an opponent since allowing 44 to Union in 2016

- A 1987 meeting in Nashville that sent Southern Miss to the NIT Final Four highlights the history between these two schools. A 95-88 win at Memorial Gymnasium propelled the Golden Eagles to Madison Square Garden
