
Southern Miss Set to Tangle With UTEP in El Paso

EL PASO, Texas --Â After a milestone win Thursday night against UTSA, the Southern Miss men's basketball continues its westward journey to El Paso, Texas to take on UTEP. The Golden Eagles and Miners will meet on Saturday night at the Don Haskins Center. Tip is scheduled for 8 p.m. CST.Â

The Need to Know
- The Golden Eagles are coming off a 74-73 win at UTSA on Thursday night. It was the programs first win inside the Convocation Center and its first win since beating UC San Diego on Nov. 25.Â
- Freshman Jaron Pierre, Jr. has gone for at least 20 points in each of his last two games, including a 20-point output on Thursday.Â
- Junior Tyler Stevenson's 8.2 rebounds per game ranks third in the conference and he added to that total against UTSA, pulling down six.
- Freshman Rashad Bolden has scored in double figures in his last three games. Against UTSA, he finished with 17 points.Â
- The Golden Eagles shot at least 49 percent from the floor for the third time this season on Thursday and it was the second time in consecutive games.Â
