Men's Tennis Grabs Seven Wins at Samford Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - In the first outing of the season, the Southern Miss men's tennis team erupted in singles play for five wins and added another two in doubles during the first day of the Samford Invitational.
The Golden Eagles started off hot in doubles as they grabbed wins from Christopher Cahour/Olimjon Nabiev and Pasawee Reansuwong/Dhruv Sunish against Georgia Southern. Georgia Southern was able to steal a doubles contest against Alexander Gima/Antoine Audrain, 7-6 (3).
Sunish, debuting for the Black and Gold, cruised to a 6-4, 6-2 win in the opening singles match against Samford. Cahour, Nabiev, Reansuwong and Audrain all grabbed wins against Samford as well. Reansuwong was able to outlast his opponent, winning 6-2, 7-6 (7), 10-4.
Pawin Jirapoomdaje and Gima each dropped their bouts to Samford.
The Golden Eagles will return to action at the Samford Invitational at 9 a.m. Saturday morning.
