Men's Tennis To Open Fall Slate at Samford Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's tennis team is set to open its fall slate of matches this weekend at the Samford Invitational. Zubin Engineer's Golden Eagles will be joined by Samford, Kennesaw State, UAB, Alabama State and Georgia Southern.
"We are excited at the chance to compete again," Engineer said. "We return high-level guys from our team from last year, but also add newcomers that will make an immediate impact on the court for us."
Each player will play one singles and one doubles match per day over the course of the three-day event. Matches will start at 9 a.m. Friday-Sunday.
The Golden Eagles are coming off a 7-3 reason that saw them get off to their best start since 2005. Christopher Cahour returns for Southern Miss after recording a 9-3 singles mark across the second, third and fourth positions. Returners include Antoine Audrain, Alexander Gima, Alan Sanson, Olimjon Nabiev and Shamirul Shahril. Black and Gold newcomers include Pawin Jirapoomdaje, Pasawee Reansuwong and Dhruv Sunish.
