Men's Tennis Reflects on Posting Highest Men's GPA for Fall, Spring

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss men's tennis team's successes continued into the offseason, claiming a 3.451 GPA for the spring when the dust settled. The squad claimed the top men's team GPA on campus for both semesters.
"The team was doing a great job on the court together," Hsiang Yi Wang said. "We were also doing well together as student-athletes off the court. We helped each other out with anything difficult academically."
Antoine Audrain, Christopher Cahour and Vence N'Tcha earned President's List honors for boasting a 4.0 GPA, while Matthieu Peres and Olimjon Nabiev made the Dean' List (3.500-3.999). Wang and Alexander Gima also made the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll with at least a 3.0.
"We take a lot of pride in how we conduct ourselves in all student-athlete elements," head coach Zubin Engineer said. "It was not an easy year, but the guys rallied together despite the circumstances in ways that will prepare them well for the future."
Southern Miss finished with a 7-3 mark on the year, with Nabiev earning Second-Team All-Conference honors as a freshman. Engineer also earned his 100th victory as a Golden Eagle.
