Southern Miss Softball Falls to C-USA Rival Louisiana Tech After 11 Innings

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Golden Eagles dropped an extra inning heart breaker to the Lady Techsters of Louisiana Tech Friday afternoon in Hattiesburg, Miss.
The game saw an outstanding effort from the Golden Eagles, but ultimately resulted in a 2-1 extra inning LA Tech victory.
Scottsdale, Arizona native Morgan Leinstock pitched fantastic from within the circle tossing a complete 11 innings and recorded five strikeouts. Leinstock notched her second complete game as a Golden Eagle but unfortunately took the game's loss. Leinstock moves to 5-6 on the season.
The Golden Eagles saw little volume offensively only recording only one RBI which was earned in the fourth inning. In the fourth, Terrica Williams recorded her first career home run in the black and gold. In result, the game would remain tied until inning 11 when the Lady Techsters would plate a run on a triple by first baseman Jordyn Manning.
Next time out
The Golden Eagles return to the diamond tomorrow when the host LA Tech in a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. (CT). The doubleheader will continue the C-USA series with the Lady Techsters.
