Men’s Tennis Concludes the 2021 Season at the Conference USA Championship

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Golden Eagles Men's Tennis squad concluded their 2021 campaign at the Conference USA Championship Tournament in Charlotte, N.C. Friday afternoon. The Golden Eagles fought valiantly against Florida Atlantic in the C-USA quarterfinals, but ultimately fell to the Owls 4-0 after a hard-fought contest.

Golden Eagles' season in review
Southern Miss (7-3) finished off the season claiming victory in three of their last five matches. The Golden Eagles entered their season recording four straight victories and posted the best start to a season since 2005. Southern Miss has showed an incredible fighting spirit since their first match versus UAB, and have seen an outstanding effort from transfers Olimjon Nabiev and Alan Sanson. Sophomore Christopher Cahour concluded his season with a singles record of 6-3. The duo of Alexander Gima and Matthieu Peres have been foundational in doubles and with a record of 6-3 have recorded many Golden Eagle victories this season. The men's tennis squad concludes spring season play claiming immense victories over UAB and Jacksonville State. Head Coach Zubin Engineer wraps up his eighth consecutive winning season as the head coach of the Golden Eagles.
