Southern Miss Men’s Golf Finishes Second Day of the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss men's golf team posted an even par 288 team score over the second round of the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship, Saturday, giving the Golden Eagles a 13th place showing with one more round to play.
The final round takes place Sunday at the par 72, 7,088-yard Old Waverly Club course. The teams will go off the No. 1 and No. 10 tees, Sunday, starting at 8 a.m.
Brice Wilkinson led the way for the Golden Eagles as he collected eight birdies, including one on each of his final four holes, to shoot a 68. That gave him the best standing among his teammates as he holds down a 30th-place tie with a 143.
Robbie Latter ended his day with an even-par 72 to collect a 36-hole 147 in holding a 57th-place tie, while Brian Richards fired a 73 for a 148 total and a 65th-place tie. Hunter Atkins is one stroke behind Richards with a 149 after shooting a 75 for a 67th-place tie. Matt Lorenz ended his second round with an 81 to hold a 152 stroke total and a 77th-place tie.
In the team standings, Texas A&M ranks first with a 559 total, leading Georgia by one stroke. Arkansas holds third at 562, followed by Tennessee (563), Vanderbilt and LSU (566), Mississippi State (567), Ole Miss (569), ETSU (574), Alabama and Kansas State (577), Texas Tech (578), Southern Miss (583) and Little Rock (584).
