Softball's Midweek Game Versus Ole Miss Moved to Oxford

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – With inclement weather forecast in the Hattiesburg area, Southern Miss will travel to Oxford to match up against in-state rival Ole Miss on Wednesday, March 24.

The Golden Eagles and the Rebels will face off at 5:00 p.m. CT, at the Ole Miss Softball Complex. The game will be streamed live on SEC Network +.

Golden Eagles to watch

Senior Destini Brown continues to dominate the diamond leading C-USA with 23 walks, 18 stolen bases, and 29 runs scored. Brown has recorded 18 consecutive stolen bases and remains a force to be reckoned with on the base path.
Second baseman Alyssa Davis has logged a standout season thus far leading C-USA with 30 hits and 22 runs batted in. Davis leads the Golden Eagles with a .341 batting average.
Kiln, Miss. native Kaylan Ladner is cruising from within the circle with a record of 8-1 on the season. Ladner has an ERA of just 1.35 on 51.2 innings pitched.

Last time out
The Golden Eagles have been hot winning six of their last seven games. The Golden Eagles took on Samford over the weekend winning two games on Saturday but dropping Sunday's game to snap a six-game winning streak. The Golden Eagles look to continue their late success in Wednesday's matchup versus the Rebels.

The Golden Eagles and the Rebels have met 20 times in program history. Ole Miss leads the series with an all-time record of 14-6. When the two teams last met in 2019 the Rebels edged out the Golden Eagles 3-0 in a hard-fought battle in Oxford, Miss.
