Men’s Tennis Defeats North Dakota

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Golden Eagles improve to 5-1 after claiming victory over North Dakota in Hattiesburg Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles edged out the Fighting Hawks and posted a final score of 6-1.
"The team improved in doubles and executed well from the start," said head coach Zubin Engineer. "In singles, we got a good start on five out of six courts and that helped us to close the match. The focus is on improving in practice and working on key things for our next matches."
Doubles
Southern Miss set the tone early claiming two of the three doubles matches.
Alexander Gima and Matthieu Peres won their match 6-4. Vence N'tacha and Antoine Audrain followed suit winning 6-1.
Singles
The Golden Eagles dominated singles winning five out of six matches.
Alexander Gima, Alan Sanson, Matthiue Peres and Christian Cahour claimed their victory after just two sets.
Olimjon Nabiev won a hard-fought battle in the third set. Nabiev clinched 10-2 in the match's final set.
