Beach Volleyball to Host Fall Tournament this Saturday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss beach volleyball team is set to host a fall tournament this Saturday, Oct. 16. The Golden Eagles welcome the Southeastern Lions, Tulane Green Wave and Spring Hill Badgers to Hattiesburg to open their fall 2021 slate.Â
Head coach Shawn Taylor's roster features nine returning athletes and nine newcomers for the 2021 fall season.Â
The Golden Eagles are in action for the first time as a Conference USA program. The C-USA announced earlier this month that it would add beach volleyball as a sponsored sport, with Southern Miss as one of the founding programs.Â
Southern Miss will prepare for the first season in its new conference throughout the fall. This tournament is the first of four competitions that the Golden Eagles are slated to compete in before the spring season begins in February.Â
The Southern Miss Fall Tournament will take place on Saturday, Oct. 16 and will begin at 9:30 a.m. Admission at the Southern Miss Beach Volleyball Complex is free. Fans can follow the Golden Eagles on Twitter and Instagram, @SouthernMissBVB.
