Respect Leaphart Earns All-Conference Selection

This is the senior's first All-Conference accolade.
DALLAS, Texas – Conference USA announced their annual All-Conference selections on Monday morning, and Southern Miss senior women's basketball player Respect Leaphart earned her first nod as an All-Conference honoree.
Leaphart, a senior from Fort Myers, Fla., was named Second Team All-Conference by C-USA. This is her first All-Conference selection in her four years at Southern Miss.
The senior is the only player of Southern Miss women's basketball that has started in every game this season. She scored her 1,000th point in the last regular-season contest against UAB on the road Saturday, scoring 12 points. Leaphart has scored in double-figures for 25 out of this season's 29 regular-season games, and has had five games with 20 or more points. She has recorded four double-doubles, upping her all-time number to seven. She has been the leading scorer 14 times this season, along with being the leading rebounder 11 times and leader in assists two times. The Floridian scored a new career-high 26 points agaisnt South Alabama in December, and has also broken her career record in steals, blocks, field goals and field goal attempts, free throws and free throw attempts, as well as minutes played in a game this season.Â
