Men's Golf Completes First Day at The Tiger Invitational Sunday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Robbie Latter shot an even-par 72 to lead Southern Miss after the opening 18 round of the three-day, 54-hole event, The Tiger Invitational presented by Jason Dufner, being played Sunday in Opelika, Ala.
The Golden Eagles posted a team score of 307 to hold 17th place in the 20-team field at the par 72, 7,289-yard Grand National on the Lake Course.
Latter, a freshman from Mississauga, Ontario, birdied four of the holes over the opening round to tie for 21st place, while senior Walker Kesterson (Hartsburg, Mo.) shot a 76 to tie for 54th and senior Matt Lorenz (Fairhope, Ala.) added a 78 to hold a 72nd-place tie.
Junior Brice Wilkinson (Madison, Miss.) collected a first-round 81 to tie for No. 90, while junior Brian Richards (Gulf Breeze, Fla.) shot a 83 to hold a 96th-place tie.
Tournament host Auburn leads the team standings with a 279, followed by ULM (280), Auburn "B" Team (284), Louisiana Tech (287), Kentucky and WKU (291), Toledo, Arkansas State and North Alabama (292), Florida Atlantic, Charlotte and Georgia State (296), Chattanooga (297), James Madison (299), South Alabama (300), Austin Peay (306), Southern Miss (307), Mercer (312), Kennesaw State (314) and Morehead State (318).
Day two of the event starts at 8 a.m., and the Golden Eagles beginning teeing off at 9:30 a.m. Fans can follow the action by clicking here.
