Fans Help Decide the All-Berry Team via Twitter
3/20/2020 2:00:00 PM | Baseball
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – With no baseball for the remainder of the 2020 college season, Southern Miss fans will get a chance to look back over the last decade and pick their favorite players which will make up the All-Berry Team.
The All-Berry Team is designed to entertain and engage Southern Miss fans, as well as baseball fans alike, in determining the top player at each position (including a utility player, three starting pitchers, a middle reliever and a closer) during the tenure of Scott Berry as its head coach from 2010-20.
The top three position players will be chosen with the three most number of starting assignments at each respective spot during their career and voting will be done in poll form on twitter.
Fans will also have the option to respond to each tweet with a "write-in" candidate if they want to vote for a different option of the three players given. For starting pitchers, we will allow fans to choose their top three pitchers.
The Southern Miss Athletic Communications will have the discretion of placing players in certain categories when seen fit. To be eligible, Golden Eagle players did not have to start his collegiate career at Southern Miss, but must finish it there, by either exhausting eligibility or professional baseball. Current players are also eligible for the team.
Each weekday from March 23-April 8, we will release one position via twitter in which fans will get a chance to vote for their favorite player for that position. On April 9, we will release the entire team on twitter.
Here is a look at the dates in which we will be voting for each spot:
