HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The momentum continued for Southern Miss Men's Tennis after its Sunday shutout of UAB, this time earning a 5-2 win over visiting Nicholls on Saturday afternoon.
The contest concluded a seven-match homestand, and the team will now play its next three on the road from New Orleans to Jackson and Troy, Ala.
"We're one-third of the way through the season, and we've learned a lot about ourselves," head coach Zubin Engineer said. "Each match, someone new steps up and shows their potential. It started with our two big wins in doubles and then eventually Emilio clinching in singles."
Matthieu Peres and Alexander Gima improved to a team-best 5-1 with their win on No. 2, but Vence N'Tcha and Christopher Cahour shut their Colonel foes out in their first decision as a pair this season.
Bowen is now 3-2 on the year in singles, while Cahour and Antoine Androine moved to 7-1 and 6-1, respectively.
Like this past week, the Golden Eagles will have the next several days off before its next match, this time at New Orleans on Saturday afternoon.
